Chelsea McClammer has dreamed of competing in the London 2012 Paralympic Games since she began training with Team St. Luke's in Spokane, Washington--a short two years ago! But it looks like she'll be competing at the Olympic level a little sooner than she expected as she qualified last weekend to compete in Beijing this September!

"Things just fell in place," Chelsea said. "At first I didn't really believe it. It seemed unreal. It'll be an amazing experience."

Chelsea's final time in the women's 800-meter run during trials in Arizona was 2:09.32 according to the 2008 U.S. Paralympics Team Trials website. The world record is 1:47.50. Chelsea is the youngest of the 17 U.S. women who will compete in this summer's Paralympics, and she's the second youngest athlete to ever make the U.S. Paralympic team. Chelsea's coach, Teresa Skinner, said "Most athletes on the team this year are in their 20s and 30s." More than 4,000 athletes with physical disabilities from around the world are expected to compete in this summer's Paralympic Games. The games will be held from Sept. 6-17.

In addition, Chelsea was featured on the TiLite Episode of "John Ratzenberger's Made in America" that aired on the Travel Channel this past Saturday. Chelsea showed off her wheelchair skills in her TiLite TR with host John Ratzenberger. Check your local listings for reruns in your area.

Fold-Down Push Handles
TiLite’s Fold-Down Push Handles utilize lightweight materials for superior strength and durability. Our thermoplastic elastomer handles provide better grip, reducing the chance of slipping off. Integrated into the back post, these push handles have a sleek yet very functional style. The release button is located on top of the fold down hardware, yet is recessed to avoid the push handle accidentally disengaging. Spring loaded, these push handles remain against the back post when not in use keeping with the clean look of the chair.

Black Aluminum Scissor Lock
What’s old is now new again thanks to a few significant design improvements. TiLite’s new Black Aluminum Scissor Lock functions much like our previous stainless steel scissor lock, but has a more ergonomic handle which makes it easier to operate. The new scissor lock is spring loaded to keep it from moving back in front of the wheel. The spring can be removed for those with limited hand function. With a black anodized finish, this new TiLite aluminum scissor lock virtually disappears underneath the seat when not in use.

Folding, Angle-Adjustable Seat Back
TiLite’s new Folding Angle-Adjustable Seat Back for folding chairs gives you the ability to change your seat angle and/or back angle independently of each other! It also allows you to fold the chair like you normally would for transport, and then fold the back down to further reduce the space needed for stowing. This new option gives you 12° of forward and 12° of rearward back angle adjustment.

From June 18th to June 20th, TiLite was a very busy place! We played host to over 50 Sales Representatives and International Distributors who came from all over the United States, Canada, New Zealand, the United Kingdom, Netherlands, and Australia. The event was topped off with a company-wide event with close to 200 attendees at the nearby TRAC Center. It included a Bar-B-Q lunch followed by presentations by David Lippes, CEO, Rick Forman, President and Chief Legal Officer, and an inspirational story from Mark Wellman, a well-known paraplegic rock climber who is also a TiLite user!

While the days were filled with meetings and plant tours, we also took time out to recognize all the hard work that has been done over the past 10 years. Awards were presented to a variety of people, including Tony Colgin for Top Sales Rep in 2007; John Monroe, Paula Maiberger, Roger Felske, and Joel Staley for largest growth in a territory in 2007; and special achievement awards were given to Cathy Mulholland, Eric Hall, Barbara Byrom, Toby Brown, and Pete Hedberg. Congratulations to all!

Hi Ti, I just wanted to give you an update on where you can find me and My Ti.

The picture I have enclosed is from this past weekend. I coach my daughter's basketball team and we went to the state playoffs and lost in the championship game. It was a tough game and close down to the end. There will be an article written about us in our local paper this week.

I am President Elect of Professional Rehabilitation Specialists of Georgia and on the Board of Directors for the Brain Injury Association of Georgia. Accord Services will be conducting one day spinal cord seminars in Savannah and Augusta this year for case managers, claims adjusters and persons with spinal cord injuries and I will be presenting to them as a motivational presenter and sharing with them the life travels of "me and my Ti".

I just wanted you to know I appreciate your working with me when my chair needs attention.
