Dear TiLite Enthusiast
Z10
An ultimate expression of TiLite technology and innovation, the Z10 features several frame and component firsts. From its integrated folding back mechanism to its single sided forks, the Z10 sets a higher standard for manual mobility. With its aesthetic improvements, the Z10 is more like a rolling piece of art than a custom ultralight wheelchair. In fact, that’s the feedback we get from the owners who have purchased Z10s since January. Their mobility is no longer seen as something to hide, but something they want to show off! Remember, only 110 will be built and fewer than half remain.

Wheelchair Skills Class at Braintree Hospital

Something wheelchair users all need when getting a new chair are some advanced skills development with that chair. TiLite has now done some skills training for users and therapists at Braintree Hospital in Massachusetts.
Marty Ball and Charlie Croteau spent a day, with support from the hospital and Mala Aaronson from National Seating and Mobility, explaining and demonstrating various wheelchair skills to a group of new chair users and therapists from that hospital. The morning session was devoted to chair setup, explaining how to perform various skills, proper wheeling techniques, and answering individual questions from both users and therapists.
The afternoon session was devoted to practicing the skills learned in the morning session. Braintree Hospital has built a patio with various terrain challenges one can practice on, including a collection of curbs of various heights for learning to ascend and descend with spotters. Stairs were a big hit and, in fact, some therapists even took a field trip to the local mall to ride an escalator. While therapists and users learned a few tricks of the trade, the emphasis was on practice, practice, practice!
Our Training and Education Department offers a two hour CEU program to train therapists and suppliers on proper instruction and implementation of wheelchair skills training. If you are interested in holding a program at your facility, please contact TiLite.
