Welcome to this very special issue of the “Eye on Ti”. In the issue, we introduce the latest editions to the TiLite product line, the Aero X and the 2GX. We are very excited about these new chairs, as their designs encompass everything we have learned at TiLite during our first decade in business. TiLite is pleased to introduce the aluminum Aero X and its titanium-framed, vibration dampening older brother, the 2GX. These compact, ultra lightweight folding chairs are available with Fixed or Removable Front Ends and combine TiLite’s signature “Bullet” caster housing with a unique curved rear axle plate. The Aero X retails for $1,995 and the 2GX retails for $2,995. Test out the Aero X and 2GX and you will understand why TiLite is known for building The Ultimate Ride.

Sit Down and Stand Out. The Aero X and 2GX feature TiLite’s new Tru-Fit clamp-on component system, comprised of the RFM, rear axle plate and front caster clamp. The “Tru-Fit” system allows these components to be precisely clamped onto the side frames instead of being bolted through, eliminating one of the main stress points on today’s wheelchairs. This results in a 50% reduction of holes in the frame, allowing for finite adjustments since there is no need to line up components with pre-drilled holes. This design innovation also simplifies the appearance of the chair, a TiLite trademark.

RFM. TiLite’s exclusive Rigid Folding Mechanism RFM cross tube design, first developed for the TX, allows TiLite to incorporate one-piece side frames into its newest line of folding chairs, just like TiLite’s rigid chairs. This innovation increases performance by reducing flex because the side frames are welded together, not bolted. TiLite’s RFM cross tubes also feature snap in seat saddles that lock into place, helping the Aero X and 2GX achieve near rigid-chair performance.

2GX Titanium. Ti 3-2.5 seamless aerospace grade titanium provides superior vibration dampening, reducing user fatigue and creating the 2GX’s super smooth ride. Titanium also reduces fatigue on the wheelchair, resulting in unparalleled durability and fewer repairs.

It’s that time of year again! From October 2-4 TiLite will be exhibiting at MedTrade in Orlando, Florida. As of October 1st, the following options have been added to the TiLite Order Form.

Depth adjustable backs for TiLite ZRA and Aero Z! Now, customers can enjoy the benefits of depth adjustability for clients who grow faster than their funding will allow and for those who want to add back support without sacrificing seat depth. The new depth adjustable back, available on the ZRA and the AERO Z, allows you to grow the seat depth 2-3 inches as needed. The adjustment is simple and ensures the perfect fit!
Titanium Camber Tube price is reduced from $100 to $50 and the additional on chair titanium camber tube is reduced from $150 to $100.

At TiLite, we continually look for ways to improve our products through design changes and additions of new component upgrades. Dear TiLite…

Recently I've reconnected with some old friends, women such as myself who use wheelchairs. I told them about my wedding and all the fun aspects of that day. Their response: "When I get married, I am going to talk to you about my chair, dress, etc. I will definitely need advice." This got me to thinking that I wanted to thank TiLite. As you could probably imagine, in preparation for their wedding day, most brides think about the dress, shoes, veil, makeup and hair........but when you use a wheelchair, you must also think of the chair. Some worry, "Well, I don't want people to see the chair; I want them to see me!" The sleek, minimalist look of the TiLite is definitely helpful when it comes to this concern. After all, there's not much chair to worry about, anyway! But on my big day, I chose not to worry about people seeing the chair as a distraction, and instead I accessorized the chair as an adornment to me! As you will see from the photos, the chair looked beautiful. My best friend was up for hours the night before, cleaning the chair (she seriously was like a NASCAR pit crew); my grandmother sewed together the ribbons that went into the spokes; and my dressmaker designed a slip cover for the back and the bow that went behind the chair. It was a team effort.

My point in sharing is just to let TiLite know that while using a wheelchair was once a stigma and while I once dreamt of walking down the aisle, on my actual wedding, I was proud to not only walk down the aisle and dance in my chair, but felt as glorious as every bride should...in my TiLite. In fact, I kept the decorations on my chair while honeymooning in Italy. And I was proud!!

Just wanted to thank TiLite and let you all know you do a great job with your product. I'm in the process of ordering a ZR now.....just going through the insurance process.
