Alert - E-mail Scams
10/24/2006
Recently a broadcast email was sent by scammers "phishing" for private and protected financial information. The sender of the email is identified as TiLite. This, however, is a hoax. The senders of the email are attempting to obtain personal information and then commit fraud and identify theft.
The illegitimate email is professionally done. It contains our logo and color schemes, is fairly well written, and links to a site that looks official. However, the site is not the real TiLite site; it is a fake. If you look closely at the URL, it contains extra characters, not just www.tilite.com.
No legitimate TiLite email will ask you for information.
There was no breach of TiLite’s security. The scammers obtained our logo from our public web site and broadcast emails through numerous networks. Hundreds of financial institutions and other companies have been targeted over the past few months.
If you responded to this fraudulent email and entered your personal information, please contact our staff at 509-586-6117, ext. 309, or 1-800-545-2266, ext. 309.
